On September 11, 2001, nearly 7,000 airline passengers were diverted to the small town of Gander, Newfoundland. Stranded far from home, they were met not with uncertainty alone, but with extraordinary generosity from the local community.

As cultures came together over five remarkable days, Gander became a place of shared humanity, resilience, and connection in the most unexpected of circumstances.
